Srouji worked at IBM\u2019s development laboratories in Haifa for three years.<\/p>

In 1992, he joined Intel Israel, where he served in a senior management role specializing in verification technologies and distributed delivery systems within the semiconductor division. In 1999, he relocated to the United States to work at Intel\u2019s development center in Austin, Texas, where he contributed to the development of the Pentium processor. In 2003, he returned to Intel\u2019s development center in Israel. In 2005, he rejoined IBM as Development Manager for the central processing unit (CPU) of the POWER7 processor family.<\/p>

In 2008, he joined Apple as a manager in the company\u2019s chip division for touch-enabled devices. In 2011, he was appointed Vice President of Apple\u2019s chip division, where he led the development of the A4 system-on-chip (SoC), which powered earlier generations of the iPhone and iPad. He also worked on the fingerprint identification sensor used in the iPhone 5s. In 2014, he was appointed Vice President of Hardware Technologies, and in 2015, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies. <\/p>

In June 2020, during Apple\u2019s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), he announced that the company would phase out the development of Mac computers based on Intel processors using the x86 architecture within two years, and transition to Apple-designed system-on-chip processors (\u201cApple silicon\u201d) based on the ARM architecture. The move was intended to improve performance while reducing power consumption across the Mac lineup.The first processor in the series, the Apple M1, was introduced as part of this transition.<\/p>

In June 2022, he unveiled the successor to the M1 system, the M2, at Apple\u2019s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).Later that month, during a meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, he revealed that Apple operates a research and development center in Rawabi, in the West Bank under the Palestinian Authority. The facility was part of a confidential pilot initiative he had promoted with the aim of integrating more Palestinians into the technology workforce and contributing to improved economic conditions in the region.The initiative began operating in 2018 with five employees at a small R&D center in Rawabi. Recruitment was carried out through ASAL Technologies, a Ramallah-based information technology company, in cooperation with Palestinian-American businessman Bashar al-Masri. The Palestinian team works closely with Apple\u2019s Israeli R&D operations in Herzliya and Haifa, particularly in the field of hardware development.President Herzog expressed his support for the initiative and welcomed its development. According to Srouji, the inspiration for the project came from a 2015 meeting with then-Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, which he attended together with Apple CEO Tim Cook.By June 2022, the number of employees at Apple\u2019s Rawabi operation had grown to approximately 60.<\/p>

In June 2023, in an interview with Geektime conducted at the Technion\u2019s Faculty of Computer Science, he revealed that Apple\u2019s Haifa R&D center was expected to double its workforce.<\/p>
